We met recently with Le Directeur of Alliance Française, here in The Gambia, to check out the center as a potential venue for the Photos Tell Stories exhibition. And, we were so excited to find that it fits our needs perfectly, we (heavily) penciled in a date for the opening night: Friday 16th May, 2014!

On the opening night, we will be exhibiting printed work – thanks to AdormaPix, NYC – from each and every one of our Gambian students, from all of the workshops we taught here, in The Gambia, earlier this year. We will also be using the centers large screen, in their amphitheater, to project a wider range of the students work – here is just a taster of the excellent images, produced by the students:

Also, included in the opening night projections, will be PTS’s tutor and photographer, Jason Florio’s, images from our two West Africa expeditions: ‘River Gambia Expedition‘ and ‘A Short Walk in the Gambian Bush‘, and his other work from a 12 year portraiture project – ‘Makasutu – mecca in the forest‘, taken here in The Gambia.

In the foyer, we’ll be screening the ‘River Gambia’ short film – taken whilst on the River Gambia Expedition – 1044km source-sea African odyssey, 2012-13

The printed exhibit will run at Alliance Francaise for two weeks, after the opening night, until the end of May.

As always, immense thanks to Josh Shrager, and all at the US Embassy, Banjul – our major partners for ‘Photos Tell Stories’ – their support has been (is!) invaluable.

Please feel free to subscribe to all updates, about the exhibition and the workshops – in the left hand column – or ‘like’ our Photos Tell Stories Facebook page.

More news coming soon!
