The ‘Disappearing Malta’ series is my attempt to capture an important part of the history of the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta, much of which is being demolished in the name of ‘development’. The island has an abundance of beautifully decaying, colourful, vintage (and retro) doors, facades, and storefronts –  vestiges of the island’s rich and varied history. Many of these unique, and often historical, buildings are now vying for their right to exist, next to the ever-increasing, much-favored it seems, modern, high-rise structures of glass and concrete.
