‘Photos Tell Stories: teaching photography – a visual language‘ with Jason Florio and Helen Jones-Florio
We are getting nearer to setting a date for the Photos Tell Stories photography workshops students exhibition, here in The Gambia. We want to welcome on board – and give huge thanks to to one of our local photography stores – AdoramaPix, in New York, for partnering with us – the shipment of prints is on route to West Africa!
Here is a taster of the fine work we’ll be exhibiting, from our Gambian students:
We also want to thank all our other partners and contributors– all of whom have helped to get to where we are now: US Embassy, Banjul, The Gambia; FujiFilm, USA; powerHouse Books, USA; Gambia Experience, UK; Foto Care, USA; Protronica Ltd, UK; Jekkah – African inspired clothing, The Gambia; Qcell, The Gambia. And, a whole list of phenomenal contributing photographers: Manjari Sharma; Amber Terranova; Amy Toensing; Sari Goodfriend; Ryan Heffernan; Ben Lowy; Stefan Falke; Oskar Landi; Thomas Donley; Brandon Remler; Wayne Lawrence; Chris Bartlett; Robert Goldstein; Henry Jacobson; Heloise Bergman.
This week, we hope to visit a central venue which will be perfect for the exhibition and event night – where we will be able not to exhibit the prints, but also show a slideshow of images, on a big screen, from all the work produced during the workshops we held here in The Gambia; along with Jason Florio’s work from our two West Africa expeditions. If you want to receive updates on how things are progressing, simply subscribe (in the left hand column) by entering your email address. You may also ‘like‘ our PTS’s FB page or follow us on twitter
Thanks, as ever, for stopping by
