I have a slight obsession with doors and storefronts. These images form part of a much wider collection of photographs of doors and storefronts from The Gambia, taken over many years of both living and working in the region. Yo, dude! ‘Modou Taxi’ on his pink Schwinn bicycle. When I saw this bike, I had a sudden pang of nostalgia. I used to have the same make of bicycle when we lived in New York City. Except mine was purple, and called ‘Isabella’, and it had a Miss Marple-esque basket on the front.
